National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting

NICEIC Approved Contractors are assessed to the highest standards covering all types of electrical installations. As a NICEIC Approved Contractor, all Heron Electrical’s electrical undertakings comply with BS 7671 and relevant codes of practice. With records and ongoing accuracy and consistency of test equipment used for certification and reporting purposes. Heron Electrical maintain a record of any complaints made about the technical standard of electrical works carried out, together with any details of remedial action taken. Heron Electrical also have a strict, written health and safety policy and carry out risk assessments.

The NICEIC Domestic Installer scheme covers contractors who do installation work in domestic properties. It is important to use a Domestic Installer to comply with the requirements of Part P.

We are assessed annually to certify that our business and technical standards of electrical installations continue to comply with the NICEIC Council’s rules.

RECC

Renewable Energy Consumer Code

The Consumer Code links closely to the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) installer and product certification scheme. Both of these are run by the Licensee, Gemserv, on behalf of the Government. The Code is backed by the Trading Standards Institute (TSI) as part of a self-regulation initiative, the Consumer Codes Approval Scheme.

Heron Electrical are fully assessed as compliant contractor by CHAS. Our clients can be assured our policy, arrangements, systems and organisation for health and safety are approved to the required standards in both the public and private sector.

Furthering our commitment to quality workmanship and customer service, Heron Electrical is a TrustMark Approved Business. TrustMark is a Government Endorsed Quality Scheme driven by several factors, including helping consumers make energy efficiency improvements to their homes and enhancing the protection they can depend on when making such decisions.

Office for Zero Emission Vehicles Approved Installer

The Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) is a team working across government to support the transition to zero emission vehicles (ZEVs). We are providing support for the take-up of plug in vehicles, as well as funding to support chargepoint infrastructure across the UK.

Site Management Safety Training Scheme

Heron Electrical’s Directors and senior Electrical management hold SMSTS certificates to ensure we carry our health and safety practices correctly, in line with relevant legislation affecting safe working in the building, construction and civil engineering industries. Highlighting the need for risk assessments in the workplace, the implementation of the necessary control measures and adequate communication to sustain the health and safety culture within our workforce.

Construction Skills Certification Scheme

We are members of CSCS and demonstrate an agreed level of occupational competence in health and safety on construction sites.

Health and Safety for Directors and Senior Managers

Heron Electrical completed an e-learning course that provides our Directors and Senior Managers with an understanding of their responsibility for the safety, health and wellbeing of people within our organisation.

EAL Level 3 Award in the Installation of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems

Heron Electricals’ Managing Director holds EAL Level 3 Award in the Installation of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems (600/5175/9).

Certified subjects include knowing the requirements to install, commission and handover small scale solar photovoltaic systems (D/602/3086); and installing, commissioning and handing over small scale solar photovoltaic systems.
